In early summer the Grossarl Valley presents itself from its best side: the last snow on the mountains has melted and the sunshine finally chases away the last remnants of winter. The flora and the flower world awakens. First of all the moss bells and crocuses. Shortly afterwards the gentians and the cow bells bloom. Finally from around mid-June the alpine roses transform the alpine pasture into a pink carpet.
Experience nature's awakening during the alpine rose weeks from mid-June to mid-July in the Grossarl Valley and savour the magnificent play of colours in early summer. During this period the farmers in the Valley of Alms open up their alpine huts again. The dairyfolk and the animals yearn for the day they can leave the valley behind and take up their summer quarters on the alpine pasture. Then it's time for the hikers to head up to the alpine pastures and mountains.
Berg-Gesund in the alpine summer is a weekly package for all the senses. Enjoy the intensive mountain experience with your 5 senses. Treat your body & soul to something good. Inhale the wonderful alpine and mountain landscape of the Grossarl Valley and recharge your batteries for everyday life. Take a look at the healing power of nature, the flowers, the herb and the regional produce. Savour the interplay of exertion and relaxation between lush alpine pasture and panoramic peaks whilst hiking, climbing, mountaineering, yoga outdoors or tandem paragliding.
All activities accompanied by state qualified hiking & mountain guides.

Harvest festival is also time for the cattle to be herded back down to the village and thanksgiving festival. Harvest festival combines the 3 pillars of agriculture, regional delicacies from the kitchen and cellar plus living folk culture, which together make an endearing whole, which makes harvest festival so successful. "From roots to treetops – breathe in and out" is the harvest festival motto for 2019. Let the restaurant owners and dairyfolk at the alpine huts spoil you with harvest festival specialities. Celebrate with us the various events such as thanksgiving, alpine festivals, folklore evenings or herding down the sheep.
